How The COVA Learning Approach Has Impacted My Learning

The COVA learning approach has already impacted my learning in this program tremendously. Having the freedom to develop a plan a project that is so specific to m needs as an educator in challenging and forces me to be innovative. Not only has it opened my eyes to a different way of learning but also teaching my students and addressing issues relevant in my organization.

The challenge is knowing exactly where to start and prioritizing my ideas. Additionally, planning how to implement those ideas in a way that is effective in following the COVA learning approach. I feel that each part of the COVA learning approach is beneficial to learning. Allowing students to learn by having a choice in how they learn, a voice which allows the students to gain confidence, and ownership of their hard work is what leads to the authentic learning environment.

Being a part of a COVA learning community and collaborating with colleagues is a monumental foundation to the development of my learner agency. I am an active learner that has the authority to make choices that will impact my future as a learner, educator, and colleague. I own my ideas and have the choice to share those ideas with the world. The best part is that we are all learning together collaboratively as we all develop our sense of learner agency.
