EDLD 5318 Instructional Design in Online Learning Enviornments
This webpage highlights my work from the course Instructional Design in Online Learning Environments. Throughout this course, I explored the foundational principles of instructional design through the Understanding by Design (UbD) framework, focusing on planning, delivering, and evaluating meaningful learning experiences.

Here, you’ll find examples of how I applied instructional design theories to create engaging, learner-centered materials and effective online course structures. This collection represents my growth in developing instructional systems that connect learning outcomes, assessment, and delivery in purposeful and measurable ways.
Instructional Design Project
This assignment focused on exploring key design considerations, quality, accessibility, and usability when developing online learning environments. I created a design document outlining my selected instructional design approach and produced supporting media and resources to demonstrate how course materials can effectively meet learner needs and stakeholder expectations.
Implementation Overivew
For this assignment, I will present the Introduction/Overview/Start Here module and the first instructional modules of my course as I begin putting the full design into action. Because implementation is an iterative process, these modules are shared for peer feedback before moving forward with full course development.
Usability Testing & Reflection
This usability project explores how real students experience my online Medical Terminology course. By reviewing their navigation patterns, survey feedback, and technical challenges, I gained valuable insight into what is working well and what needs improvement. These findings will help me redesign elements of the course to create a smoother, more accessible, and more supportive learning environment.
